1. Welcome to our forum. Feel free to discuss anything related to science fiction; in particular our great science fiction series. But we're open to all sorts of relevant subjects, because we'd like you to hang out and enjoy yourselves.

About Rockoids II: As some of you know, co-author Grayson Steinberg now lives and works in Madrid, and hence only visits his family during the summer months. Last summer, Gene and Grayson completed Book II, at last, and resumed work on Book III, about which you'll hear more soon. Book II is in final production form, and we await the new cover design. We'll then offer it for sale. Thanks for your patience.

I got hooked on the series during Tom Baker's run. I really like David Tennant's interpretation of the character. Old and new series; who's the best who?

Without a doubt, Tom Baker was the best original Dr. Who, but David Tennant is doing one bang up job too. :)

I find that the new Dr Who series on the BBC rely too heavily on CGI. Also I'm sick of the BBC patting themselves on the back at every given opportunity regarding the new series.

Dont get me wrong they're not bad programmes but I much preferred the old Dr Who as at times I remember it to be quite scary as many a time I had to sit behind the sofa when it was on.

The enhanced CGI is in keeping with the times and technology, that's all. I know about the cheesy special effects that were a hallmark of the original, but they wanted to advance the concept.

Its just that the CGI is really noticable which kind of detracts from it.

From cheesy models to cheesy CGI. Yes, but this is Dr. Who. You're not supposed to have real special effects, right? :)
